This item is pre-owned and vintage, and a fabulous collectible piece. This style with single chain strap and curved front panel, also known as the "Diana bag," was recently resurrected by Chanel due to its popularity, but not again in this quality and craftsmanship. This style is especially rare and hard to find in patent leather.
The long single woven shoulder chain can be worn long cross body (as it is a single chain) or doubled up as a short clutch, and the versatility makes it convenient for either work or play. One main compartment with side zipper pocket. Instead of a double flap and double strap, there is one long strap, allowing for the chain to connect directly with the main base of the bag instead of the top flap, allowing for better durability and structure. One of our favorites!
In Red patent leather and 24k gold plated hardware. Straps are woven with soft red lambskin leather. In a dark cherry red patent leather against gleaming yellow gold plated hardware, this is a true treasure of a find.
In the small size, which is harder to find, the classic Diana flap is 9 inches wide, right in between the sizes of rectangular mini and medium classic in the classic flap world.
This item is in very good condition with some signs of normal use. The major sign of wear on this bag is in the interior - underneath the flap, there is wear from the top flap pressing against the interior of the bag. There is wear on the interior portion of the flap (back of flap, lambskin area) in addition to the patent area underneath the flap where there is darkening/discoloration of the patent quilts under the flap. This is visible in the open flap photo in the photo set, right before the interior shot of the bag. Both areas are visible when the flap/bag is opened. If it weren't for this interior wear, the bag would be rated excellent, as everywhere else, including the edges of the hologram sticker, are excellent and clean, as is the hardware still fully pristine. Corners are clean with no rubbing or scuffing. Hardware is clean and shiny. It is a deep, yellow 24k gold plated hardware which is impossible now to find in stores as it is no longer produced.
